Manpower demand rises in transport and security sectors

The employment in the Transport, Storage & Communications sector (14,754) and Security Activities (13,206) grew 1.7% and 1.3% year-on-year in the second quarter, while Wholesale & Retail Trade employment fell 2.8% to 66,899. The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) reported that average full-time earnings increased in Transport (MOP22,220) and Security (MOP13,630), with resident employees seeing higher growth. Most Security vacancies required junior secondary education, while 72.9% of Retail Trade vacancies required work experience, reflecting steady manpower demand.
