Cross-border vehicular traffic surges in July

The cross-border vehicular trips rose 22% year-on-year to 949,999 in July, with light passenger cars up 24.2%. Data from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) shows that trips to Hengqin and under the “Northbound Travel for Macao Vehicles” policy increased 44.7% and 7.0% respectively. Meanwhile, passenger ferry trips (6,246) and commercial flights (4,723) declined 8.6% and 10.1%. Containerized land cargo grew 25.9%, while port and air cargo showed mixed results, reflecting ongoing shifts in cross-boundary transport patterns.
