MGTO carnival draws 200 influencers to boost tourism

The “Enchanting Macao” carnival kicked off on June 14 at Fisherman’s Wharf. Organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Douyin’s Xingtu platform, the two-day event gathered 200 popular mainland KOLs (key opinion leaders) with a combined 300 million followers, according to MGTO. The carnival aimed to highlight the city as a vibrant destination for Mainland China’s youth. The event featured stage performances, cultural parades, and a bazaar-style market offering local delicacies and crafts. Influencers shared their experiences live and promoted Macau’s tourism, gastronomy, and culture.
