Macau’s total population reached 686,600 at the end of the third quarter of 2025, roughly unchanged from the same period last year, according to data from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Females outnumbered males, with 369,900 women accounting for 53.9% of the population.
In the first three quarters of 2025, 1,829 deaths were recorded, a decrease of 37 year-on-year. The leading causes of death were neoplasms (708, 38.7%), diseases of the circulatory system (496, 27.1%), and diseases of the respiratory system (172, 9.4%).
Meanwhile, 2,052 marriages were registered, down by 262 from the previous year.
Population movement saw 2,735 new arrivals from the Chinese mainland with one-way permits, up 290 year-on-year, while 1,178 individuals were newly granted the right of abode, an increase of 390.
Quarter-on-quarter, live births rose to 709, while deaths (579) and marriage registrations (610) declined slightly. New arrivals increased, but new right-of-abode grants fell. lv
