About 6,300 students, including 3,050 undergraduates, graduated this weekend from Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST).
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai highlighted the government’s strategic focus on education, science, and technology integration, promising to “provide more opportunities, a bigger stage, and a better environment for the younger generation” to thrive.
“This year marks the 25th anniversary of MUST. Since its establishment, MUST has focused on increasing the number and quality of its students, and on conducting research with special characteristics and advantages. It has achieved remarkable results in cultivating qualified talents, academic research, building Macau, and providing services to the country.”
Sam reiterated plans to accelerate the construction of the Macau and Hengqin International Education University Town and build Macau into a hub for internationally qualified talent, supporting the ‘One country, two systems’ framework.
“The Macau SAR Government, in cooperation with all sectors of society, will provide more opportunities… to develop their talents, work, set up their own businesses, and fulfill their aspirations,” the CE said.
Sam emphasized the importance of youth patriotism and love for Macau, aiming to pass these values down through generations. “Young students are the most energetic, enterprising group who strive to achieve their dreams. They are the bearers of hope for the nation and the future of the country.”
