Non-resident deposits rose to MOP349b

Resident deposits increased 0.2% from the preceding month to MOP707.8 billion while non-resident deposits rose 3.4% to MOP349.4 billion in October. Public sector deposits with the banking sector dropped 5% to MOP201.8 billion. Domestic loans to the private sector fell 0.4% from a month ago to MOP547.7 billion,  while external loans rose 2.5% to MOP590.4 billion. As a result, total loans to the private sector rose 1.1% from a month earlier to MOP1,138.1 billion.
