Off-duty firefighter suspended for drunk driving
An off-duty firefighter has been suspended for suspected drunk driving and evading responsibility. On August 11, 2023, he was driving a private car on Estr. do Repouso when he collided with 18 motorcycles in a parking area and left the scene without assisting. He was charged with drunk driving and evading responsibility, resulting in a court sentence of three months in prison, along with a one-year and nine-month driving ban. The Fire Services Bureau initiated a disciplinary investigation and issued a suspension order on August 8.
