PSP fines 82 pedestrians for unlawful road crossing
The Public Security Police Force (PSP) has said it identified and fined 82 people accused of violating road traffic regulations at pedestrian road crossings. The cases, recorded in several locations in Macau, came during police operations to prevent road accidents caused by unlawful pedestrian crossings. Each person caught in the act and found guilty of the infraction has been fined MOP300. Despite repeated calls to respect these rules, the number of people seen committing such acts seems to be growing, and civil society groups are calling for legal amendments to introduce more deterrent penalties.
