PSP arrests nine in illegal accommodation case
The Public Security Police Force (PSP) detained nine people in connection with a case involving an alleged illegal accommodation operation in Taipa. According to the PSP, the force acted on a tip-off that a residential unit on Estrada do Coronel Nicolau de Mesquita was being used as an “illegal guesthouse.” Upon arriving at the location, officers found nine people, all from the mainland, who, during questioning, admitted they were staying at the unit through a referral from an unidentified person. Among them, seven said they were paying daily rent ranging from about HKD60 to HKD300, while the other two claimed they were staying free of charge.
