SPU refutes rumors linking elderly accident to speech mishap during Tapah

The Unitary Police Service (SPU) clarified in a statement that rumors circulating on social media, suggesting that an elderly person fell and was injured due to a speech mishap during tropical storm Tapah, are false. The Force noted that the accident involving an 80-year-old resident occurred about 30 minutes before the speech mishap mentioned. In the speech, a high-ranking SPU official mistakenly said it was unsafe to stay home while attempting to state the opposite, a mistake the SPU acknowledged and apologized for. Later, police authorities announced the arrest of a 50-year-old man accused of creating and spreading such a rumor.
