Suho announced as IFFAM Talent Ambassador

Kim Junmyeon (Suho), member of the K-pop group EXO, was announced as Talent Ambassador for the Fourth International Film Festival & Awards – Macao (IFFAM) yesterday by festival organizers.
In a press statement, the organizers note that Suho will join previously announced Hong Kong star Carina Lau as Talent Ambassador for the festival this year.
The two stars will also join writer and director Kim Yong-Hwa, Indian director and producer Karan Johar, and mainland Chinese director Wang Xiaoshuai as IFFAM Ambassadors, in a bid said to reflect the festival’s ambitions to approach local and international industry professionals, highlighting Macau’s East-meets-West culture.
Suho, who will be present at the IFFAM Opening Ceremony on December 5, is a member of record-breaking boyband EXO, internationally renowned for their hit songs Growl, Call Me Baby, Ko Ko Bop and Tempo.
In addition to EXO, Suho’s talents have also been recognized through his participation in musicals, dramas and movies.
He has played leading roles in several feature films, such as “One Way Trip” and “Middle School Girl A,” and he also won the “Discovery of The Year” award at the 15th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival this year.
Suho said of his invitation, “I’m honored to be an ambassador for the International Film Festival & Awards – Macao. I will work hard to encourage individuals to relate to and be inspired by great movies.”
The Fourth International Film Festival an& Awards – Macao is an event organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Macau Films & Television Productions and Culture Association, and will be held from December 5 to 10 at the Macao Cultural Centre.
During last year’s festival, Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage was invited, together with Asian film star Aaron Kwok and rising Korean film star Lim Yoon-A as Talent Ambassadors.
In 2018, the festival also invited and featured several of the best films of the year, such as The Green Book by Peter Farrelly (Best Film at the Oscars), Roma by Alfonso Cuarón (Best Director at the Oscars and winner of the Golden Lion award for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival), and The Sisters Brothers by Jacques Audiard (Silver Lion award winner for Best Director at the Venice Film Festival).
