Union Hospital introduces First PET-MR, SPECT-CT systems

The Macao Union Hospital has introduced Macau’s first Positron Emission Tomography–Magnetic Resonance Imaging (PET-MR) scanner and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography–Computed Tomography (SPECT-CT) imaging equipment. The SSM said the new technologies are expected to enhance diagnostic accuracy and provide precision medical services for complex diseases. The nuclear medicine department now offers a variety of scans, including those for tumors, bone metastasis, and cardiovascular conditions. The development allows residents to undergo necessary medical tests locally rather than traveling abroad.
