A woman from mainland China in her 30s was arrested by the Judiciary Police for allegedly filing a false report claiming a friend stole MOP285,000 in chips and RMB10,000 in cash from her hotel room on January 23. Investigations revealed she had lost at least HKD184,000 earlier at a casino and owed the friend money from joint investments. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecutions Office.
