The inaugural “MGM Discoveries Art Prize,” presented by MGM in partnership with Art Basel Hong Kong, named its first winner, Shin Min, represented by P21 (Seoul).

The prize recognizes emerging international artists and aims to increase their visibility in the global art scene.

Shin Min received the prize for her installation “Ew! There is hair in the food!!,” which addresses societal norms and injustices. As part of the prize, Shin Min and P21 will receive USD50,000 and an invitation to hold an exhibition and participate in artistic exchanges in Macau.

The award ceremony took place at the MGM Lounge during Art Basel Hong Kong 2025, with. Kenneth Feng, president of MGM China, and Angelle Siyang-Le, director of Art Basel Hong Kong, presenting the award.

MGM also hosted a guided Art Basel tour for cultural leaders from Macau to further promote art and cultural development in the region.
