237 lift inspections completed in first half
The Lands and Urban Construction Bureau completed 237 inspections of lifts and other lifting equipment in the first half of 2026, with more than 99% passing. Equipment that fails inspection must be taken out of service and undergo corrective work. Under the lifting equipment safety law, such equipment must be inspected at least once a year. More than 11,000 units are registered citywide, with over 10,200 in operation. Authorities said all operating units have undergone required inspections and obtained inspection certificates. Macau has 42 registered maintenance entities, 16 inspection entities and 119 certified technicians.
