Bee Macau opens city’s first playing card manufacturing facility

Bee Macau has launched full-scale production as the city’s first casino-grade playing card factory following an investment of approximately HK$500 million.

The facility is a joint venture between Belgium’s Cartamundi Group and Asia Pioneer Entertainment Holdings Limited (APE). The plant produces Bee® brand cards, a label established in 1892 and acquired by Cartamundi in 2019.

By manufacturing in Macau, the venture intends to supply Macau’s six gaming operators and global markets. It also seeks to reduce import reliance and expand Macau’s repertoire in the gaming sector.

Equipped with AI and automated robotics, the factory is operated by a local technical team. APE CEO Herman Ng said the partnership brings global manufacturing expertise to Macau and provides a domestic alternative for gaming supplies.

Bee Macau also announced that it will exhibit its “Made in Macau” products at the G2E Asia gaming expo, which will be held May 12–14 at The Venetian Macao.
