Certain foreigners who have been in Hong Kong for the 21 preceding days will be allowed to enter Macau with approved applications and under several conditions, the government announced today.
These foreigners must not have been to other places except mainland China, Macau or Hong Kong in the 21 days prior to their application date.
Meanwhile, they need to fulfill one of five other conditions:
1. Possession of a permit of stay issued by a competent Macau authority.
2. Possession of a non-resident worker condition or an endorsement for entry on work purposes issued by a competent Macau authority, as well as their family members who possess a permit of stay issued by a competent Macau authority.
3. Spouses or immediate family members of Macau residents.
4. Entry to Macau on the purpose of participating in important business, academic or professional activities.
5. Students who have been admitted by a Macau higher education institution.
Applicants above age 12 must present proof of their full vaccination or medical certificate that prove their physical inaptness for the vaccination. Upon arrival, all permitted entrants will need to show negative Covid-19 polymerase chain reaction test results and be quarantined centrally for 14 days.
Applicants on conditions numbers three and four must have their application initiated by their family members or the inviters in Macau respectively. Applications can be conducted on the website of the Health Bureau.
The new measure will start taking applications on September 15. The first group of approved applicants will enter Macau on September 20 at the earliest. AL
