BT7 plot sports field construction begins tomorrow, traffic constraints enforced

The construction of a new sports field in Taipa will start tomorrow, with several traffic constraints being enforced in the area, the Public Works Bureau (DSOP) and the Transport Bureau (DSAT) said.
The construction will take place at the land plot classified as BT7, located between Avenida de Kwong Tung, Rua de San Tau, Rua de Viseu, and Rua de Sai On, on a 3,745-square-meter site.
As the Times previously reported, the project includes two basketball courts (one convertible into a volleyball court), five badminton courts (one convertible into pickleball courts), a four-lane tartan running track, storage rooms, restrooms, fitness equipment, and seating areas.
The project was awarded to Coneer Engenharia e Administração, Limitada for MOP14,798,000, with the construction period set at 180 working days.
The DSOP and DSAT noted that this construction project is included in the government bid to make use of idle land for which there is not yet a concrete long-term use plan.
The authorities also noted that temporary traffic measures will be implemented in phases on the roads surrounding the lot between today and August 22, as different utility concessionaires will jointly lay underground piping to avoid repeated excavations in the future.
The bureaus also noted that, because it will be necessary to close the sidewalks on Rua de Sai On and a portion of Rua de Viseu during construction, pedestrians will need to find alternative routes depending on on-site conditions.
