Commercial flights plunge 40% y-o-y in August
Arriving and departing commercial flights totalled 485 trips in August, a decline of 39.1% year-on-year, data from the the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) shows. From January to August 2022, the number of arriving and departing commercial flights declined by 36.4% year-on-year to 6,365 trips. Also, cross-border vehicular traffic in August increased by 9.3% year-on-year to 309,623 trips, of which light automobile trips (277,985) grew by 10.9%. In the first eight months of 2022, cross-border vehicular traffic (2,225,846 trips) decreased by 19.6% year-on-year, while gross weight of containerized cargo by land (35,489 tonnes) surged by 93.6%.
70 GBA placements available at career expo
Over 70 positions in Hengqin will be showcased in the Youth Career Expo 2022, which will be held on October 8 and 9. During the expo, there will be booths from the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, which involves industries such as technology, finance and health. Meanwhile, in addition to interview areas for industries hiring staff, several services for supporting youth such as mock interview workshops and workshops for writing curriculum vitae will be added this year. Also, senior human resources consultants from various enterprises will answer questions from young people in relation to finding jobs at the expo.
