GEG organized team members to participate in the Macao International Dragon Boat Races for the 21st consecutive year. A blessing ceremony was held at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre today.

Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has been actively supporting the Macau SAR Government’s initiatives in sports development by organizing and supporting large-scale sports events, and encouraging its team members to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This year, in support of the Macao International Dragon Boat Races for the 21st consecutive year, GEG is organizing seven dragon boat teams formed by team members from its different properties to participate in the races. Today, a blessing ceremony was held at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre to extend support and encouragement to the dragon boat teams.

GEG executives officiated the traditional cutting of the roasted pigs during the blessing ceremony.

The blessing ceremony was attended by Ms. Eileen Lui, Group Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG; Mr. James Koratzopoulos, Executive Vice President of Hotel and MICE Operations of GEG; Mr. Joseph Tang, Executive Vice President of Operations of StarWorld Hotel; Mr. Simon Lei, Senior Vice President of Table Games of Galaxy Macau™; and Mr. Danny Lao, Vice President of Human Resources and Administration of GEG and Chairperson of the GEG Staff Social Club. They bestowed good luck on the teams and performed traditional rituals such as the cleansing and eye-dotting of the GEG dragon boats: Galaxy Stars, Galaxy Pearl, Galaxy Universe, Galaxy Glamour, Galaxy Phoenix, Galaxy Elegance, and Galaxy Pioneer. Additionally, the executives officiated the ceremonial cutting of the roasted pigs and presented red packets to members of the GEG Dragon Boat team, wishing them success in the upcoming races.

Ms. Eileen Lui, Group Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG, performed traditional rituals including the cleansing and eye-dotting of the GEG dragon boats.

Mr. Tyson Hoi, Captain of the GEG Dragon Boat Team, said, “The company has provided the GEG Dragon Boat Team with strong and unwavering support over the years, offering structured training arrangements and the resources needed to continually enhance both our technical skills and team synergy. We are fully prepared and look forward to putting our training into action, racing as one and demonstrating the unity that defines our team as we strive to achieve our best results.”

GEG executives presented red packets to members of the GEG Dragon Boat team, wishing them success in the upcoming races.

GEG actively encourages its team members to participate in a wide range of sports activities. Through the GEG Staff Social Club, GEG has established multiple sports teams to promote physical wellbeing while advocating a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, GEG also plays an active role in advancing Macau’s sports development by hosting and supporting various large-scale international sports events. These include serving as one of the organizers of the “ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao Presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group” at Galaxy Arena for three consecutive years; supporting the “Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon” for 22 consecutive years and co-organizing it for three consecutive years since 2023; organizing the “WTT Champions Macao Presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group” for six times, including three consecutive times as an organizer since 2023; as well as hosting the “UFC Fight Night Macau” under a four-year strategic partnership with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. These efforts underscore GEG’s ongoing commitment to contributing to Macau’s development as a “City of Sports”.
