Gov’t to implement electronic tag sharing for vehicles traveling to Hengqin

Starting August 15, Macau vehicle owners traveling between Macau and Hengqin will use electronic tag sharing at border crossings. This measure, announced by the Working Group on Innovation and Cooperative Development of Border Posts, aims to ease the movement of “Hengqin single-license plate vehicles” by removing bureaucratic border checks. Currently, drivers undergo manual verification when crossing. The new electronic tag system will enable automatic recognition, speeding up border passage, reducing wait times, and simplifying procedures.
