March inflation rises 1.06% y-o-y

Composite Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 1.06% year on year in March 2026 but fell 0.18% month on month, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). For the 12 months ending March, average inflation increased by 0.53% compared with the previous period. Food, transport, and personal services posted notable annual gains, while alcohol and tobacco edged lower. Monthly declines were driven by weaker recreation demand after the Lunar New Year period and lower airfares.
