The Fire Department conducted a joint fire drill with the Macau Light Rail Transit Co., Ltd. early yesterday to improve emergency response protocols. The exercise simulated a scenario where a train traveling from Union Hospital Station to Seac Pai Van Station experienced a short circuit, causing smoke and power loss approximately 100 meters from the station.
Firefighters swiftly responded with six rescue vehicles and 23 personnel, instigating evacuation procedures and providing medical care to three injured passengers. The drill, which lasted about an hour, involved around 60 participants and successfully met its emergency coordination effort objectives.
