Man arrested for drunk driving after early-morning crash

A local man in his 30s was arrested for suspected drunk driving after crashing into a car parked in a metered space early last Saturday (Nov. 29). Police said the driver briefly drove against traffic on Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira do Amaral before the collision. A breathalyzer showed 1.73 grams of alcohol per liter of blood. The suspect admitted consuming alcohol at a restaurant before driving and has been transferred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
