The Macau SAR held its own National Day celebrations on Tuesday at Golden Lotus Square, where officials from the local government participated in a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The ceremony was also attended by officials of the Central Government’s representative offices in the Macau SAR, the Macau Garrison of the People’s Liberation Army and people from across the local community.
In addition to the flag-raising ceremony held in the Square, young people from Macau were invited to stage several gymnastic performances during the ceremony.
The 2019 National Day commemorative running contest was held again this year, and Acting Chief Executive, Wong Sio Chak was present to award the winners.
