Police arrest three men over illegal gambling loans

The Judiciary Police arrested three mainland Chinese men suspected of engaging in illegal lending through “paired betting” at a Cotai casino. Police said the case came to light after a dispute was reported at an entertainment venue. Investigations found that a mainland woman was persuaded to join a paired betting scheme, with both sides investing HKD200,000. The suspects allegedly charged HKD100,000 in interest during the gambling process. About HKD160,000 in casino chips were seized.
