Retail | Sands China organizes Local Supplier Open Day

_3-MG_4708 The Sands China Local Supplier Open Day took place yesterday at The Venetian Macao. According to a press release issued by the gaming operator, the event “was met with the keen interest of local businesses, drawing over 230 registered attendees.”  Jointly organized by Sands China and the Macau Chamber of Commerce, the open day focused on three types of local businesses: small and micro enterprises; “made in Macau” companies; and young local entrepreneurs.
Commenting on the event, Norbert Riezler, senior vice-president and chief procurement and sustainability officer for Las Vegas Sands, said: “Throughout our company’s growth, we have driven positive, game-changing economic results in the regions we serve, creating jobs and opportunity. As part of our corporate values, we continually strive to patron local and diverse businesses whenever possible to meet our business and procurement needs.”

They also provided them with information on nearly 200 purchase items specially picked for the three categories of local companies listed above. In addition, a business matching session connected the prospective suppliers with Sands China procurement representatives, via six booths: food and beverage; operating supplies; technology and gaming; marketing, outside services and logistics; facilities; and furniture and lighting.
The Sands China local supplier support program and the Sands China Local Supplier Open Day are the latest initiatives in the company’s supplier relationship management strategy.
