Chief Executive candidate Sam Hou Fai met with representatives from various industrial and commercial associations on September 9, 2024, to discuss the future of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region. The meeting, held at the Application Headquarters in Nam Tung Commercial Building, included key officials Lei Wun Kong and Ip Sio Kai.
During the session, nine representatives from the Federation of Industry and Trade in Central and Southern Districts, along with others from the Northern Macau Zone and Macau Islands, shared insights on enhancing the business environment. They emphasized the need for transforming each zone into a unique attraction to support local SMEs and proposed establishing a specialized government entity to study economic development in community neighborhoods.
In a separate meeting, Hou Fai’s campaign representatives, including Lei Wun Kong and Chan Ka Leong, engaged with Oxfam President Kalina Tsang to discuss support for vulnerable groups in Macau.
Additionally, Hou Fai met with the Macau Youth Development Service Center to address youth development issues, where representatives shared suggestions on employment, housing, and career planning.
Hou Fai expressed gratitude for the feedback, committing to explore ways to optimize Macau’s business landscape and promote sustainable economic recovery as the CE election approaches. NS
