Sands China held an inclusive community basketball carnival Sept. 13 at the University of Saint Joseph, bringing together more than 250 participants from local special education schools, community centers, residential care homes and secondary schools.

Co-organized by Sands China, Macau Special Olympics and the University of Saint Joseph, the event featured basketball competitions, skills challenges, interactive activities and a youth tournament.

The event included the MSO Sands China Inclusive Basketball Match, in which members of the Sands China basketball team and Sands Cares Ambassadors played alongside Macau Special Olympics athletes. The MSO Sands China Love Team won the match.

Four secondary school teams – Chan Sui Ki Perpetual Help College, Pui Va Middle School, Escola São Paulo and Colégio Diocesano de São José 6 – also competed in the youth tournament, with Escola São Paulo taking the title.

The carnival was organized as part of efforts to promote community sports and interaction between people with and without disabilities.
