Six women scammed by fake travel page, lose nearly MOP10,000

Six local women have reportedly fallen victim to an online scam involving a fake travel agency page, with total losses amounting to approximately MOP9,696. According to the Judiciary Police, the incidents occurred between June 18 and 25. The victims came across the fraudulent page on social media, which falsely advertised discounted buffet vouchers and hotel packages. They transferred between MOP800 and MOP2,980 each but never received receipts. When they requested refunds, the seller became unreachable, prompting them to report the case.
