Taxi driver and passenger injured in brawl over fare dispute

A local taxi driver and a passenger were caught fighting at a taxi stand in the Hengqin Port (Macau Port Area) over a payment dispute. Last month, a video circulated on social media of the two fighting, resulting in both being injured and taken to the Conde de São Januário Hospital. The Public Security Police (PSP) recently confirmed that the two were a local male taxi driver in his fifties and a male passenger in his thirties holding a non-resident worker’s identification card who were involved in a dispute over the method of fare payment, which escalated into a physical altercation. Both parties have expressed their intention to pursue criminal charges against each other.
