Third Stimulus | Over 416,000 have registered for e-consumption benefits; card tops choices

Some 416,000 residents have completed their registration for the third round of economic stimulus that will grant a total of 8,000 patacas per person on electronic consumption payment methods, the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) and the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) announced in a statement.
The figure, which accounts for completed registrations up to yesterday morning, also demonstrates that the consumption card continues to gather the preference of more Macau residents. Card registrations account for a total of 238,000 registrations (57.2%), while the option that grants the funds via one of the mobile payment platforms has so far been chosen by 178,000 people.
Those who have completed the registration, and whose request have been approved and confirmed before May 20, will be able to receive the funds as early as today (May 24) from 9 a.m. via their preferred method.
The DSEDT and AMCM also noted that requests submitted on or after May 20 should receive an approval within two working days.
The utilization of the economic stimulus that includes 5,000 patacas of initial funds and extra 3,000 patacas in automatic direct discounts will start for everyone from June 1. RM
