UM hosts symposium on Greater Bay Area’s intersecting histories

The University of Macau (UM) hosted the first symposium on the “Intersecting Histories of the Greater Bay Area (1820–1940),” bringing together scholars from Macau, Hong Kong, and mainland China. The event also featured a donation of 50 historical travel documents from Prof Paul Van Dyke. Experts explored the region’s urban evolution, integration, and global significance through archival research. As cited in a statement, UM reaffirmed its commitment to regional studies and fostering academic collaboration within the Greater Bay Area.
