Briefs | Spotify to begin streaming in Macau

 

Audio streaming service Spotify has recently announced that it will soon start serving the Macau market, although it did not specify when. The company added that it is rolling out “as quickly as possible.” Users in Macau will be offered free and premium plans, as with customers in other places. Macau is among many jurisdictions in this batch of new markets, including Angola, Jamaica, Madagascar and Vanuatu.

Gov’t considering merging bus routes 18A, 19

The government intends to merge bus routes 18A and 19 in order to improve efficiency, as nearly 80% of the routes overlap. The news has prompted user concerns that the merger will make bus trips more crowded. In response, the Transport Bureau said that if the merger occurs, the new service will run on larger buses. Meanwhile, the government has no timeline for the merger and is currently studying the traffic data only.

Guangdong reports 4 new Covid-19 cases

According to the Health Commission of Guangdong Province, as of midnight February 24, the province saw four new cases of Covid-19 infection. All of them were imported, the commission added. One case is symptomatic and is an entrant from Nigeria. The other three cases were asymptomatic and are entrants from Nigeria, Burundi and Laos. The provincial capital Guangzhou recorded three cases and Shenzhen recorded one of the four cases. Currently, 48 patients are receiving treatment for Covid-19 in the province.
