Corporate Bits | Melco Reinforces Responsible Gaming Culture

P001To reinforce and promote responsible gaming, Melco Crown Entertainment Limited launched a company-wide online quiz and set up game booths in its Heart of House employee facilities to strengthen its employees’ knowledge of responsible gaming. A total of 9,600 Melco Crown Entertainment employees participated in the quiz.
The guests of honor who attended the final stage of the quiz and presented the prizes included Ms. Serene Chan, Head of the Research and Investigation Department of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau; Ms. Bonnie Wu, Coordinator of the Social Welfare Bureau’s Resilience Centre–Problem Gambling Counseling Service; Dr. Davis Fong, Director of the University of Macau’s Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming; Mr. Austin Vong, President of the Macau Juvenile Volunteer Association, and Mr. Lee Kwok Hoo, Service Director of the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office.
Ms. Serene Chan Ioc Sut, Head of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau’s Research and Investigation Department said, “I am glad to see that Melco Crown Entertainment has launched such a meaningful activity.  The event has drawn much attention from the majority of their employees. The promotion of responsible gaming is a long-term commitment for Macau society. Gaming practitioners are at the forefront to identify problem gaming and we are very supportive to gaming operators on strengthening their employees’ knowledge in responsible gaming.”

01MGM China receives 2015 ASHRAE Technology Award

MGM China has been recognized by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) for achievements in energy efficiency by being awarded the Regional Technology Award for the Asia Pacific Region for innovative energy conservation projects completed at MGM Macau.
The Award recognizes the achievements by members who have successfully applied innovative building design in the areas of indoor environmental quality and energy conservation.  Performance is measured through one year’s verified operating data following the design implementation.  The ASHRAE Technology Awards presentation ceremony took place in Manila, The Philippines, on August 22.
“The success of these projects was driven by the thoughtful planning and execution by our two local managers at MGM Macau, Mr. Kevin Pong and Mr. Adam Vong.  We are particularly proud to win this year’s ASHRAE Technology award as it is a reflection not only of the successful implementation of our efficiency strategies, but also the execution and energy savings measured following the initiative.” said Mr. Peter Chan, Director of Facilities Management.
