Creative Macau launches solo exhibition on architectural colors

Creative Macau – Center for Creative Industries recently held the opening ceremony of “Walking Colors: Architectural Hue Archives,” a solo exhibition by artist Justin Ung.

The exhibition showcases 21 illustrations featuring bright and vivid colors, with “color” as the central theme.

The works explore how color acts as a key language in architecture, influencing both the visual identity and cultural significance of buildings. Ung uses a variety of hues to bring life and meaning to diverse architectural subjects.

The artworks depict notable landmarks in Macau and UNESCO World Heritage sites worldwide, including The Venetian Macao, the Temple of Heaven, Kun Iam Temple, and the Sagrada Família.

Ung describes his work as capturing “the solemn vows of the Temple of Heaven’s azure glaze in Beijing” and “the romantic whispers of Macau’s pastel Portuguese tiles,” highlighting stories of cultural exchange.

The exhibition runs until August 23, with free admission. The gallery is open daily from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., except Sundays.
