Economic housing pre-sale buyers begin key collection

The first batch of pre-sale buyers for the Economic Housing Scheme in Zone A will be allowed to begin key collection procedures starting today at the Housing Bureau (IH).

After apartment payment, buyers can collect their unit keys and proceed to the management office of their respective building to handle property management-related procedures.

The Public Housing Affairs Committee visited Zone A yesterday to inspect the units and facilities of the Tong Chong Building, Tong Chong South Building, and Tong Kai Building.

The units applied for in the 2019 Economic Housing application located in Zone A are in Tong Chong Building (Plot B4), Tong Chong South Building (Plot B9), and Tong Kai Building (Plot B10), totaling 3,017 HOS units.

IH began arranging for eligible families to select units in sequence starting from March 4, and as of September 15, 2,054 eligible families have selected their units.

The bureau is currently notifying, by official letter and in sequence, the pre-sale buyers who are eligible to complete the key collection procedures, including those who will make a one-time payment or have completed their mortgage arrangements.

After collecting the keys, the pre-sale buyers must go to the management office of their respective building in Zone A to pay the security deposit, collect the building access card, and complete the check-in procedures.

If workmanship defects are found in the unit, residents can scan a QR code provided by the management office to fill in details online; the contractor will then contact the household to arrange for repairs.

To support new residents, IH has leased shops in the area through a first-phase public tender.

Shops have now been handed over to tenants, who will begin renovations and secure licenses.

The bureau will monitor resident needs and occupancy rates before launching a second tender phase for more shops at a later time. Times Reporter
