Gaming tax revenue nears MOP8.1 billion in July

Government revenue from the gaming industry remained steady in July, with the Financial Services Bureau reporting around MOP8.11 billion collected in gaming taxes.

The figure is almost unchanged from June’s MOP8.16 billion.

The monthly tax take is tied to the city’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) recorded in June, which totaled MOP21.1 billion.

That represented a 19% increase compared with June 2024 but was slightly lower than the MOP21.6 billion recorded in May this year.

From January through July, gaming taxes contributed MOP53.4 billion to public coffers, marking a 3.4% year-on-year improvement.

Overall government revenue during the first seven months reached MOP63.3 billion, of which the gaming sector accounted for more than 86%.

The government has set a full-year budget target of MOP93.1 billion in gaming duty revenue for 2025.

As of July, the city has already collected 60.3% of that projection. LV
