DSEDJ and GEG sign the “Nurturing the Future Together” MOU to launch a parenting education training program for employees, strengthening collaboration in parenting and vocational education.

The Education and Youth Development Bureau (“DSEDJ”) of the Macau SAR Government is actively expanding diversified collaboration models between corporations and schools. To encourage corporate social responsibility, support the promotion of parenting education, and foster corporate participation in non-tertiary vocational and technical education, DSEDJ has signed a memorandum of understanding with Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) to jointly develop a parenting education training program for employees, strengthening cooperation in both parenting education and vocational training.

The memorandum of understanding was jointly signed by Mr. Kong Chi Meng, (right), Director of DSEDJ, and Mr. Phillip Cheng (left), Director of GEG.

On September 15, 2025, Mr. Kong Chi Meng, Director of DSEDJ, and Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, co-signed the “Nurturing Future Together” memorandum of understanding. Through this initiative, GEG will actively promote parenting education by organizing various parenting and parent-child activities, equipping team members with effective parenting skills, enhancing awareness of parenting education, and fostering greater family well-being.

Mr. Kong Chi Meng, Director of DSEDJ, delivered a speech.

In addition, GEG has launched school-corporation partnerships with four local schools:

  • Supporting the “Information Technology” curriculum at Escola Luso-Chinesa Técnico-Profissional
  • Collaborating with Macau Kung Luen Vocational & Technical Middle School on “Information Technology,” “Specialized Finance and Accounting,” and “Internet of Things Application Technology” programs
  • Partnering with Macao Sam Yuk Middle School on “Tourism” and “Business” courses
  • Working with Pui Va Middle School to support “Fitness Instructor” and “Interior Design Integrated IT Applications” programs

These partnerships provide students with internship opportunities, career pathways, and curriculum development support, strengthening the development framework for local technical talent and building a skilled workforce that supports Macau’s moderate economic diversification.

Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, delivered a speech.

Since 2021, DSEDJ has actively promoted corporate participation in educational collaborations. Agreements have been established with six integrated resort operators in Macau, leveraging corporate resources to create synergy between education and industry. In 2025, DSEDJ conducted over 200 parenting education activities in collaboration with schools, communities, and enterprises, reaching more than 9,000 participants. These initiatives offer timely support to parents in need, empowering them to navigate parenting challenges and alleviate the demands of child-rearing. In vocational education, over half of the secondary schools offering technical programs have signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements, creating favorable conditions for student internships and practical training.
