Kenya Airways will this month increase the flights on its Luanda/Nairobi route from two to three times a week the airline’s communications director said in Luanda.
Ricardo Vieira Lopes said that an increasing number of passengers were using Nairobi as a hub to reach a variety of destinations in Asia.
According to Angolan news agency Angop, Vieira Lopes mentioned destinations such as Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Guangzhou and Beijing (China), Bangkok (Thailand) and Hanoi (Vietnam).
The Kenyan flagship airline currently offers two flights a week (Wednesdays and Fridays) between Nairobi and Luanda and the additional weekly flight will be offered on Sundays.
Kenya Airways, which ahs operated in Angola since 2010, in 2013 carried around 12,000 passengers between Luanda and Nairobi, which was the biggest number in its four years of business. MDT/Macauhub
