A 35-year-old Macau man was intercepted by customs on April 22 at the Hengqin Port inbound vehicle lane while attempting to smuggle cooked meal boxes into Macau, according to TDM. Customs officers found a large batch of uninspected cooked food weighing about 51 kilograms in the trunk of a light vehicle. The man admitted to attempting to bring the goods from mainland China into Macau via the checkpoint. The case has been referred to the Municipal Affairs Bureau for follow-up action.
