Phoenix Suns top Brooklyn Nets in thrilling showdown at Venetian Arena

The Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns split their China series last night at Venetian Arena, with the Suns beating the Nets 111-109 in a nail-biting finish.
The atmosphere was electric, even livelier than Friday’s opener.
A packed house of passionate fans was treated to the sight of NBA legend Stephon Marbury and soccer icon David Beckham sitting courtside, adding excitement to the NBA’s return to the region.
The Nets came out aggressive, sparked by early scoring from Omo Ighodaro and Michael Porter Jr., who nailed several timely three-pointers.
Nicolas Claxton anchored Brooklyn’s defense with multiple blocks. Bruce Brooks added 10 points and key rebounds, while Cam Thomas led the Nets with 16 points, including clutch free throws late in the game.
Phoenix countered with a balanced offensive attack led by Devin Booker, who scored 18 points, mostly from behind the arc.
Chris Gillespie contributed eight points, hitting big shots when it mattered.
Newcomers Nolan Richards and Zachary Williams combined for more than 25 points and several assists.
The second half featured multiple lead changes as both teams excelled in transition and perimeter shooting.
Defensive plays by Grayson Allen, who recorded three blocks, kept Brooklyn close, but Phoenix’s relentlessness produced crucial second-chance points.
The game came down to the wire, with Tim Martin sinking decisive free throws in the final seconds. NS
