The Poly MGM Museum will unveil a new phase of its “Silk Roads Beyond Border” exhibition on April 11, marking the Asia debut of selected Venetian masterpieces and rare artifacts.
The updated display reinforces Macau’s role as a platform for cultural exchange between China and the West.
Two 18th century works by Venetian School painters, Canaletto’s “The Molo from the Bacino di San Marco” and Michele Marieschi’s “Ca’ Foscari and Palazzo Balbi on the Grand Canal,” are presented in Asia for the first time, alongside Chinese silk, porcelain, and other artifacts.
A Farahan carpet from Lisbon is exhibited alongside MGM’s Dragon-patterned carpet, highlighting the exchange of textile artistry along the Silk Roads.
Visitors can engage with the collection through immersive experiences, including the Marco Polo VR Experience and “Museum Encounter – the Tang Story”, connecting historical narratives with modern interpretation.
