Professional tax refunds begin May 22

Macau will begin refunding 2024 professional tax payments on May 22, with a cap of MOP14,000 per taxpayer. About MOP104 million will be returned to 169,300 people in the first batch. The Financial Services Bureau said refunds will be transferred to registered bank accounts, while public-sector employees without registration will receive payments with June salaries. Others will receive crossed cheques by mail in June. Replacement applications start June 15.
