Sands China Ltd. and Macau Special Olympics (MSO) co-organized the 2025 MSO Sands China Cup – Greater Bay Area Badminton Invitational on August 9 at the Macao East Asian Games Dome.

The event brought together over 200 athletes from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao in a series of more than 90 matches, including singles, doubles, inclusive doubles, and wheelchair badminton categories.

The tournament, part of preparations for the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games in December, also supported the MSO Healthy Athletes programme. Athletes received health assessments covering “FUNfitness,” “Health Promotion,” and “Strong Minds,” aimed at improving physical and mental well-being.

Sands China provided accommodation at The Londoner Grand, resort tours, and meals, while 60 volunteers assisted the athletes during the event.

The tournament concluded with an awards ceremony, presenting 25 trophies and prizes sponsored by Sands China.
