Except for official drone flights approved by the Civil Aviation Authority, all other drone flights will be banned from Nov. 11 to 12 and from Nov. 16 to 19, the race periods of this year’s Macau Grand Prix, to guarantee the safety of the races, the government announced yesterday. Violators will be fined between MOP2,000 and 20,000. In recent years, the Sports Bureau used drones at sporting events for live broadcasts or recording purposes. Drone flights under specific circumstances require government approval.
