Authorities have arrested a 46-year-old Hong Kong woman suspected of illegally using a mainland friend’s ID card to enter a casino for gambling. The Public Security Police yesterday reported that the woman was classified as undesirable by the casino, prompting her to impersonate someone else to gain entry. She allegedly paid around RMB2,400 to unknown individuals within the casino to obtain six forged stay permit receipts, which she used to apply for casino membership cards and check into hotel rooms. The scheme was uncovered when police identified discrepancies in the stay permit system linked to her hotel check-in records.
