CE encourages young people to visit exhibition to learn CPC history

Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng yesterday encouraged young people to familiarize themselves with the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC) through the photo exhibition celebrating the centenary of the party.
The gala exhibition was opened yesterday at the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform Complex and will remain open to the public at the venue until July 15.
In his speech, the head of government described the photos on exhibition as “vivid and active.” He added that they will allow “the multitude of Macau residents, particularly the younger generations, to understand deeply the hundred years of struggle of the Communist Party of China.”
He stressed that the “secret to the party’s hundred years of prosperity lies in its commitment to foster happiness for the people of China and revival of the Chinese ethnicity.”
Meanwhile, Ho also called on members of the public to recognize that supporting and safeguarding the leadership of the CPC are the “basis and the core means by which the successful implementation of the ‘One country, two systems’ principle in Macau can be maintained.
“Without the CPC, there would be no new China; and without the CPC’s leadership, there would not be the prosperity and stability enjoyed in Macau under the ‘One country, two systems’ principle”, the CE added.
Also officiating at the ceremony was Fu Ziying, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, who said that “history is the best textbook.”
He added that “the Centenary of the Communist Party of China is the chapter in the modern and contemporary histories of China that elicit the most compliments and sadness.”
The exhibition has four sections, covering different stages of the CPC. AL
