CE holds government briefing in preparation for the ministerial meeting

The Chief Executive (CE), Sam Hou Fai, has held a meeting with all relevant public departments to strengthen coordination and ensure the smooth hosting of the 13th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Tourism Ministerial Meeting, which takes place next week in Macau.
In the governmental briefing, the CE said the event would showcase Macau’s professionalism and efficiency as an international tourism and convention hub, while helping to consolidate the city’s position as a world center of tourism and leisure.
Sam noted that hosting this meeting in Macau is of profound significance, following the 2014 edition, remarking that it reflects the central government’s support for and high trust in the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR).
Over the past few months, under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the MSAR, and the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the MSAR, the relevant government departments have worked closely according to their respective responsibilities and advanced various preparatory tasks.
The APEC meeting is a high-level, large-scale event that will bring together representatives from the 21 APEC member economies to exchange ideas on tourism cooperation. A series of additional events will also take place, including the 67th APEC Tourism Working Group Meeting, along with supporting activities and technical visits.
The APEC meeting will take place from June 24 to June 28.
