Decline in suspicious casino transactions in Q1

The Financial Intelligence Office (GIF) reported over 1,200 suspicious transactions in the first quarter of 2025, with 891 cases submitted by six casino operators. These transactions were suspected of involving money laundering or terrorism financing. Compared to the same period last year, this represents a 20.8% decrease. The drop in casino-related suspicious transactions contributed to an overall 15.8% decline in total suspicious activities, with nearly 73% of reports coming from casinos and 20% from banks and insurers.
